The standard Vietnamese employment route is a Work Permit plus a Temporary Residence Card (LD2, ≤ 2 years). Under Decree 219/2025 (effective Aug 2025) an expert needs a degree + ≥ 2 years experience (only 1 year in strategic sectors — finance, science, tech, digital transformation); a technical worker qualifies with training + experience and no mandatory degree.
