5-Year Visa Exemption Certificate (Việt Kiều)

The 5-Year Visa Exemption Certificate is for overseas Vietnamese (Việt Kiều) of Vietnamese origin holding a foreign passport, and for the foreign spouse or child of a Vietnamese citizen or Việt Kiều. There is no financial test — eligibility rests on proof of Vietnamese origin or the family relationship, plus a passport valid well beyond the certificate. It allows multiple entries with up to 180 days per stay over a 5-year term (statutory basis: Law 47/2014/QH13, Art. 12, visa exemption).
